Contouring may have revolutionised the makeup world a few years ago (thanks to Kim Kardashian), but the complex technique is still a mystery for beauty noobs. Where to apply bronzer? What to highlight? Did I just make my narrow nose even thinner? If you struggle with these questions as well, we totally get it. Contouring can be a tricky task, especially if you are a newbie, but we can help you nail it like a pro.

So, first things first: figure out your face shape. Contouring isn’t a one-size-fits-all. It is all about sculpting your face and highlighting your best features. Once you know what face shape you have, all you have to do is work that bronzer and highlighter to make your face look toned and chiselled.
So, without much ado, let’s get into how you should be contouring according to your face shape.

Square
A square face shape has forehead, jawline and cheekbones of the same width. Add length to your face by applying bronzer on the outer corners of your forehead and jawline and highlight your cheekbones, centre of forehead, nose tip and chin.

Use the Lakmé Absolute Facelift Palette consists of all your makeup essentials which consists of a buildable blush, a cushion soft highlighter and a nourishing bronzer. They have easy-to-blend formulas that give you a smooth finish with a naturally sculpted look.

Round
If your face appears round with a curved jawline and almost the same length and width, then you have a round face shape. Apply bronzer to your hairline and jawline and highlighter on your forehead, chin and cheekbones.

Diamond
Since you have striking cheekbones and a sharp jawline, focus less on contouring and more on highlighting. Highlight your cheekbones, chin and forehead area and just add a subtle bronzer below the cheekbones. And you’re done!

Heart
Got a wide forehead and cheekbones and a narrow jawline? Add width to the lower part of your face by applying bronzer on the centre of your jawline to make it appear shorter and less pointed and on the temples and under cheekbones to take some width off your upper face. Highlight the tip of your nose, forehead and cupid’s bow.

Oval
Long, oblong, oval and rectangle faces are longer than their width. Sweep your contour stick under your cheekbones and on the outer edges of your forehead. Use highlighter on your highest points like cheekbones, brow bone, bridge of nose and chin. Blend and you’re ready to rock.
